Katrin Neue returns to Woollinn in 2019, to offer two workshops on Somatic Education for Knitters and Crocheters on Saturday, June 15th.

Session 1: 10.00am to 11.30am

Session 2: 11.45am to 1.15pm

What to expect in this workshop:

For knitters and crafters working with their hands, Somatic Education can give you strategies to quickly release a tensely held neck, shoulders and arms. In this introductory session, Katrin will teach you how to make your fingers more supple again and how to stay cool when it comes to complicated patterns!

All the movements in this workshop will be done from a seated position to best mimic the place and posture you would find yourself in when knitting or crocheting.

What is Somatic Movement?

In a Restorative Somatic Education class, you will learn a series of self-care movements to release tight muscles on the front, back and sides of your body. The overall goal is to become more aware of habitual muscle tensions in order to release them (and get rid of them). On a deeper level, we also become more aware of general patterns of stress responses (what is our emotional response, what is our habitual thought pattern when something stressful happens?). So it’s not only about movement – but movement is the starting point of a meaningful journey towards knowing ourselves.

These workshops are priced at 15 Euro and you can pick up your ticket here.

*Please note that these workshops do not grant early admission to the Woollinn Marketplace.
