I was so thrilled to be able to time my visit to relatives in Ireland with Woollinn last year. The best part was being able to meet designers I have admired for some time! I got to meet Carol Feller and Ysolda Teague. I also got to visit This is Knit!

I loved Woollinn last year because my daughter went with me even though she can knit she doesn’t knit. She and I both thoroughly enjoyed meeting the lovely vendors and she even helped me choose colours.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can go again this year.

Coming from the States for my long-awaited trip to Ireland and it starts in rooms full of yarn – colors and textures and patterns and workshops – what more could a lifelong “knit wit” ask for? A dream coming true!
I just loved the quality of the wool, the colors were uniquely stunning, it was without doubt the best wool festival I was ever at.

I can’t wait to go to Woollinn this year. I missed it last year as I was too pregnant and uncomfortable. This year on the Friday it will be the first time I leave my baby for a day but can’t wait to have all the beautiful yarn to distract me and the Kerry Lord class. Also meeting the artisanal vendors, so many in one place!
This trip to Ireland was for my husband to see Elton John,
but then I found Woollinn and he said lets change our flights so you can stay and enjoy the Fiber festival. so looking forward to seeing all the European dyers we only hear about in Canada.
I buy pretty much all of my yarn online and it’s been years since I was part of a knitting group so for me the most exciting thing about Woollinn will be the hands-on shopping and being around other fibre craft enthusiasts IRL.
Plus I’ll finally get to spend the money I’ve been saving for this trip on some beautiful yarns!
I fell in love with This is Knit 2 years ago on my last visit to Ireland. This will be my first visit back and my first time experiencing all that Woolinn has to offer. I am searching for that perfect Aran yarn to truly make a real Irish cabled sweater. And who knows what other goodies will jump into my knitting bag? I also just want to meet all of the lovely knitters and see their gorgeous knitwear.
I’m looking forward to meet people who enjoy the same hobby. I dont have anyone to talk yarn/patterns with.
I’ll be visiting Ireland for the first time from Australia and I am addicted to all things knitting. Woollinn will give me the chance to see all the wonderful designers, yarns and techniques of Irish knitting in one place. It also means I also get to meet and chat to other knitters from across the globe. A knitters dream come true!!!!!
I have been planning a Fair Isle waistcoat for years. I’m coming from Texas to Woollinn to take a class with Felicity Ford, a class that I hope will answer all my questions about colors and motifs.
I’m volunteering at Woollinn to meet my fellow knitters but then I’m going to wander the aisles looking for wool and buttons and trim and patterns and…
One of my lovely Yarny friends in the UK told me Woollinn was coming to town and said I should go. We recently moved to Ireland and I have yet to make any Yarny friends here so looking forward to being inspired

My highest hopes for this year’s Woollinn are to finally add the lovely country of Ireland to the list of countries that I have visited, to see some of wonderful crafty friends and to make many more friends of the same caliber!

I loved being in the marketplace and seeing the vendors while sitting with a tea & knitting with other fibre folks.
It was such a pleasant environment (plus all the lovely things to squish/pet/purchase!).
I kicked myself for not making a proper note of a dreamy cowl I saw at Woollinn 2018, so tried describing it in an email to This is Knit. Well. Some kind of yarny witchcraft ensued, as they suggested I contact Anna Meltz, who sent me a copy of her book ‘Marlisle’, in which was the pattern for the dreamy cowl. Thank you, This is Knit. Woollinn is where the magic happens!
I have never before visited a yarn festival, and I was super impressed with Woollinn. I had booked a session with the Sockmatician, which was incredibly, and I got a mention in his podcast, so roll in this years, already getting my patterns ready for all the yarn I need.
I can’t wait to find lots of beautiful yarn at Woollinn 2019 and am very much looking forward to meeting many friendly & like minded people. I know that I will be greatly inspired by all the amazing designers that will be there!
I enjoyed visiting with the designers like Isabelle Kramer and Carol Feller and the yarn dyers like Jess from Olan. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Sadly I can’t make it this year. Hopefully next year workout.
The market place was great. I also attended the dinner. On leaving the dinner, I saw some women waiting for a taxi, and I offered to drive them to their hotel, as they looked very cold – turns out it was Woolly Wormhead, Isabell Kraemer and Nancy Merchant.. my good deed turned into a slightly star struck moment – looking forward to more wonder in 2019!
I loved meeting vendors especially Bernie from Bear in Sheep’s Clothing and Grace from Babbles Yarns. Also other Irish Dyer’s that I haven’t come across before. And knitting in the cafe section with other knitters I hadn’t met before.
Last year with ticket purchased and bus booked emergency surgery ruined my plans. This year can only get better
I am looking forward to see the Irish woolly yarns as I understand wool is very much underappreciated in Ireland (and many other countries)
I was at Woollinn last year, coming all the way from New Zealand, I organised my dates in Ireland so I could be there, and was accepted as a volunteer! I loved being part of it all, helping out, meeting fellow yarny minded people and spinning along with the Irish Guild of weavers, spinners and dyers.
I loved my trip around Ireland too, and wish I could be there again for Woollinn 2019. Alas, not possible, but maybe in 2020??
I look forward to my first visit to Woollinn for so many reasons not the least to fondle and probably purchase lots and lots of awesome yarn I usually don’t have access to over here. My piggy bank holding my ‘yarn money’ is already in a state of agitation…
Fab day with my sister cruising the gorgeous wool on offer, chatting with vendors, learning about dyeing and meeting like-minded wool-heads! We felt like children in a sweet shop.
